Ushered in by spring showers and sultry weather and then running the gamut of heavy rains and frigid temperatures resulting form a pre-Easter storm sweeping over this section from the Rocky mountains, the 1931 meet league came to a close at Chilton this afternoon with the colorful track and fields events that always attract the largest crowd of the series of contests. The Chilton athletic grounds were put in shape Friday by B. H. Bruner, commissioner of precinct No. 4, following precipitation Thursday night.

Standing room only was available in the Chilton school auditorium Friday night as the curtain rose on a play presented by Rosebud High school students with declamation finals following.    Despite the varied weather, events o the meet were run off smoothly, though not a few of the several hundred pupils and others attending braved muddy roads and wintry winds to reach the scene of the contests.
