NO VERDICT REACHED IN LIQUOR POSSESSION CASE



Wife of Defendant Testifies Whiskey Kept at Place For Personal Use



No verdict was reached by the jury in the case of John Burgess, tried

Monday afternoon on a charge of illegal possession of intoxicating liquor,

the jury being discharged today.

Only witness called by the defense, the wfie of defendant testified

whiskey found at the place where they resided by officers last April was kept

there "for personal use."

Members of the jury were: Tom Bryant, E. E. Copeland, Joe Johnson, B.

A. Woltman, J. L. Pittman, Ed Braden, J. J. Gallaher, R. H. Jones, L. J.

Bruggman, L. B. Barton, G. Vogel, E. A. Gibson.
