LAMAR CLUB HAS PUT UP
TWO THOUSAND CONTAINERS

Meeting Held in of
Member.

       A very interesting meeting was held by Lamar Demonstration Club in the of Mrs. E. F. Melburn at four o'clock Thursday afternoon.
       Reports were given on the Perry community fair where the club will have an exhibit.
       Since the last meeting, members who were present reported canned: 154 No. 2 cans, 120 quarts of food, 120 pints of food.  This gives the club members who have reported up to date 2000 containers.
       The Lamar Club will serve lunch at 30 cents a plate at the terracing school to be held near the Lamar school July 21, on the A. R. Scheef farm.  Everyone is invited to attend, especially the members.
       Committees appointed for the Lamar terracing picnic were:
       Meat and barbecue committee, Geo. Harper, Tom Gilbert, Gus Schultz, Herman Wusterhausen, R. L. Perdue, Ross Magee.
       The ladies of the Lamar Club will be on the serving committee.
       The lunch will be served cafeteria style.
       There will be a meeting of the club August 6 with Mrs. R. L. Perdue.
       Club delegates will go to the A. and M. College Short Course July 27.
       Members inspected Mrs. Melburn's pantry, sampling her carrot jam, watermelon rind preserves and cucumber relish.  Some of the "Favorite Recipes" were given those present.  One visitor attended.
