Falls county commissioners' court in session in Marlin Monday accepted a proposition from the Texas highway department to spend $35,462.01 on improvement of state highway No. 14 across the southeast corner of the county between the Limestone and Robertson county lines, provided the county furnish right of way of not less than 100 feet.  L. V. Holbert and J. H. Smith of Bremond were before the court and volunteered their services to help secure the right of way, being authorized to start at once.

A motion carried reducing the allowance for feeding prisoners in the county jail from 60 cents for food and 15 cents for maintenance each per day to 40 cents for food and 15 cents for maintenance.

Extend plan to Criswell

On statement of Dr. T. G. Glass, county health officer, that at times he has to make long trips such as where epidemics occur in school and has other expenses, the commissioners adopted a motion that in such cases a school trustee or some resident of the community come after
him.

An order was passed including the road from the Reed ranch on the upper Groesbeeck road to Criswell schoolhouse in the plan for improvement provided the bond issue to be voted on Saturday in District No. 9 is authorized.
