Over One Hundred Attend
Ex-Service Men's Fish Fry

Presented During Brief Program.

More the 100 attended the annual ex-service men's fish fry on the west bank of the Brazos river at the mouth of Deer creek today. While a majority of those present were from Marlin and other points in Falls county, a number attended from out of county points.
A large quantity of fish had been prepared for the occasion, the supply of edibles proving more than adequate for the big crowd.
During a brief program with Cecil Glass presiding, a vote of appreciation was extended H. O. Barganier, owner of the place on which the fish fry was held, Ben Davis, in charge of the cooking, and all others who contributed to the success of the occasion.
A. T. Beinhauer, commander of Brodie Lee Caywood American Legion Post at Rosebud, invited all present to attend the two-day American Legion fair at Rosebud today and Saturday.
Other visitors heard included Carl Cannon and G. A. Stallworth of Groesbeeck, First Lieutenant Culver Cluck of the United States army flying corps, stationed at Detroit, Mich., Walter Gray of Galveston, B. l. Faulkner of Mart, Herman Dean of Riesel, Curtis McClain and E. C. Kemble of Lott.
A number of Marlin men also were presented, including O. E. Curry and P. J. Bryan, who lost sons in the world war; B. C. Segrest, commander of Falls county post No. 31 American Legion; R. R. Eddins, general chairman for the fish fry this year; Andrew Seros, who recently located in Marlin; Mr. Barganier, and several more ex-service men.
C. S. Cousins, former first sergeant of Company F, Third Texas infantry, ex-members of which initiated the celebration a number of years ago, was elected chairman for next year's event, which will be held on July 4, the fish fry being moved up one day this year account of the holiday coming Saturday.
