For Her Family
Mrs. George Huber, 4-H pantry demonstrator of Eddy Club, has
almost completed the canning to fill her food budget. She has canned for
family of three 419 containers of food assorted as follows:
99 containers of leafy vegetables.
72 quarts of starchy vegetables.
47 quarts of other vegetables -- such as okra, carrots, squash, etc.
62 cans of fruit.
54 containers of tomatoes.
18 containers of meat.
20 containers of pickles and relishes.
50 containers of pickles and relishes.
50 containers of preserves and jellies.
Mrs. Huber made her pantry herself. In a corner cut off by a chimney she
has put in about 30 feet of shelving and enclosed the pantry with doors to
exclude the light. The whole thing she pained white to match the other
