Machinery of the American Embassy
Has Been Set in Motion.

       St. Petersburg, Oct. 22.--The machinery of the American embassy has been set in motion to secure the release of William English Walling of Indianapolis, his wife, Anna, and his sister-in-law, Miss Rose Strunsky, who were arrested at Hotel de France here because of association with members of the Finnism Progressive party, four of whom, included the wife of Professor Malmburg of Helsingford University were taken into custody at the same time.
