Getting Mexican Woodchoppers.
-----
H.C. Williams returned from Laredo with a bunch of twenty five Mexicans this
morning.
He will use them to cut wood on the
LaPrelle ranch east of town. He left Laredo Sunday night with
twenty-seven, but two left him on the way up. Just before reaching San
Antonio one of the umbras jumped from the train while it was moving at about 30
miles an hour. Another quit him at Buda. The gang is in charge of a
foreman who speaks English.
