Marlin only lacked seven votes of winning the meeting place of the Southwestern
Icemen's Associaion (sic) at Dallas.
When the matter came up I. J. Nathan as
resident of the Business League, presented Marlin as a candidate. After
considerable skirmishing in which a number of towns and cities engaged, New
Orleans and cities engaged, New Orleans won over Marlin by seven votes.
Mr. Nathan was promised by many of the
members that if he renewed the invitation at the next meeting that they would be
delighted to assist him in securing the meeting for 1909.
