IT WAS A GET-TOGETHER MEETING
-----
Marlin Business Interests Stand Un-
ited for Pushing Their
Town.
-----

"The best meeting of the business league that I ever attended" is the way the session of Friday afternoon, is referred to by those who were there and they were 40.
The real problems with which a business league has to contend and the propositions that are to be met in order that Marlin may attain her proper position as a commercial mart, were taken up and handled in a way that leaves no doubt  as to the good results that are certain to follow.

The attendance was representative of every line in Marlin.  Matters considered were those of financs, advertising, developing local trade, entertainment for the visitors, better roads, etc.  The progressive spirit that has always characterized the business men of Marlin was manifested in a marked degree at this meeting.

The finance committee is composed of B. J. Linthicum, R. A. Reed and J. P. Gardere.
The league devoted some attention to the matter of securing the meeting of associations, conventions, etc., in Marlin.  By past experience it has been demonstrated that these conventions are resultant in great good.  Not alone for the amount of money they spend while here, but for the publicity that they give Marlin.
A resolution was introduced by E. P. Hutchings and unanimously adopted that the business league invite the Texas Press association to meet with them and so expressed themselves.  The invitation will be extended at the Galveston meetings on May 16.
The resolution inviting them sets for the advantages that Marlin offers and expresses, in proper terms, the pleasure and honor that Marlin would feel in having the press gang as their guests.  The proposition met with an enthusiastic response and hearty endorsement.
With regard to the dancing privilege at the park, the league adopted unanimously the motion of E. F. Kavanaugh that hereafter "those who dance shall pay the fiddler."
