The state convict transfer agent took from Marlin Tuesday two convicts sentenced in the district court to put up time for their wrong doing.
Jim Nelson, convicted and given thirty years for killing the negro girl during the street carnival here last December, was one of them.  Jim appealed his case, but the higher court affirmed it and Jim will have to serve the state.  There is yet another murder charge pending against him, for killing Paul Broadus, a negro man, at the same time.  He will be brought back in July to stand trial on this charge.
Peter Holmes, the other negro taken to the pen, was given five years for assaulting Dr. Manny, a prominent physician of Stranger on the streets of Marlin early in January.
