Be Patient in Case of Fire.
-----

Editor Democrat:
Please mention in your paper about everybody ringing central in case of fire.
We are anxious and willing to extend all possible service and courtesies in any case, but request the public to remember that we have more than 500 subscribers and when fire alarm rings the larger portion of that number ring central for particulars, which makes it a physical impossibility to answer all at once.
And all we request in such cases is that patrons think of this and be patient, and to remember that everyone who is calling central at the same time for the same information and there is a limit to the number central can give the information to on short notice.
We are glad to give the information but request that subscribers be considerate and patient.
We will do everytihing possible to accommodate our patrons and will make an honest effort to perform the impossible for them.
We do not request that they refrain from asking about fires, but merely desire that the circumstqnces and reasons for delay be understood in such cases so that no one may become offended or impatient if not answered as promptly as they would like to be, and also to remember that when the fire bell is ringing seconds seem like hours. Respectfully.
                                               J. A. WRIGHT,
                                        Manager S. W. Tel. Co.
