BADLY MANGLED IN GIN.

Narrow Escape of Rosebud Man

Other News Notes.

-----

    (Rosebud News)

Tuesday morning about 10 o'clock Sam Ragan, a well known citizen of this city and an employee at the Wells gin, was horribly mangled by the gin saws.

Just how the accident happened is unknown, as no one was present just at the time.  It is supposed, however, that Mr. Ragan was up on the stands when in some manner he fell on the saws.

One side and leg were torn to pieces and the bone near the ankle completely shattered.

Drs. Black and Burford were in attendance upon the wounded man at once and after having him conveyed to his residence, dressed the wounds and made him as comfortable as possible.

Dennis-Barnett.

Herman Barnett and Miss Mila Dennis were united in marriage at the of the bride's mother, Mrs. J. J. Dennis, last Tuesday evening at 8:30 o'clock, Rev. B. T. Goodwin officating.

The groom was a former resident of this city, having been with B. Loewenstein & Sons, and has a host of friends who sih him much happiness and prosperity.

Miss Mila is one of Rosebud's most affable young ladies.  Her sweet, amiable disposition won her the love of everyone and Mr. Barnett is to be congratulated on winning such a companion for life.

They left Wednesday for Beaumont, where they will make their future home.

    W. H. Bailey, aged 91 years, and one of the best known and most popular citizens of Milam county, died at the family home, Baileyville, last Saturday evening about seven o'clock, after an illness of only several days.  On Thursday evening, Nov. 28, deceased fell through a window at his residence and was picked up unconscious by members of his family, and remained practically in this condition until Saturday night, when death relieved his sufferings.  Deceased had resided at Baileyville for fifty years, having settled there in 1856.
