BIRTHDAY PARTY
~~~~~
Mary Louise Dunkum
Twelfth Birthday Party
~~~~~

     Answering to a beautifully poetically worded summons the little folks gathered at the of Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Dunkum on Saturday afternoon expecting a most delightful time in honor of the 12th birthday of Mary Louise Dunkum, and they were in no way disappointed.
     This beautiful was made still more lovely by decorations befitting the occasion. The "piece de resistance" so to speak, being a cherry tree in the reception hall loaded with its crimson fruit, which furnished the principal amusement of the afternoon. Each child was blind folded in turn and furnished with a pair of scissors, the boy and girl securing the largest number of cherries while a given number was being counted, securing prizes.  Andrew Peyton carried off the girls trophy, a pretty vase, while Edgar Hutchings was presented with a hatchet, he however having to draw straws with three others who were as lucky as he in getting hold of the cherries.
     Soon afterward they were ushered into the dining room where a delicious two course luncheon was served consisting of chicken salad, pickles, wafers and sandwiches. Kiss pudding with whipped cream and angel food.
     The presents were beautiful and numerous in the extreme, there being seventy-five or more in all.
     The mother of the little hostess was assisted in entertaining by Mesdames Cheeves, Keesee, Hutchings, Gardner, Branson, Goodrich and Robertson.
     Those present to enjoy this memorable occasion numbered an even eighty.
