William Smith of Mexia returned today, after spending a few days with Mr. James Gassaway's family.

Mrs. J. W. Taylor and little daughter, Gertrude, are visiting relatives near Reisel.

Mr. M. T. Austin and family will leave next Sunday for Mississippi, where they will spend several months with relatives.  Mr. Austin will engage in the cattle business while there.

The school at this place has suspended for a few weeks on account of the prevalence of smallpox in town.

The health of our community is very good at present.
