OPPOSES THIRD TERM.

We have just received a nice rain which makes everything look up. Cotton is looking well-the boll weevil has made no appearance yet.
Well it is getting close to our primary election and we have not seen any of the, candidates or heard them speak so we are going to invite them in our community and give them a chance, on Saturdany night, June 11, to tell us their troubles. Now we wish to say in advance that you third term race horses will have to be careful and not over jump yourselves for if you have had no burn-out or big doctor's bill to pay or something like that to tell, we are uneasy about your case.
Now to the intelligent voters of Falls County, we presume each of you are familiar with the rules and custom of your party which has prevailed heretofore, with a few exceptions. Now do you want to disrespect the customs and prevailing rules of your party just for the respect of one or two men, who by their actions do not respect you, the party nor themselves; by asking you to vary from the rule, disrespect the desires and wish of the democratic party and say, "you can't find another man in your county that will or can discharge the duties of this office as I have done. " Now, fellow - democrats, isn't hat a compliment on you and your boys? Isn't that respect for your past support? Why not allow your boy a chance to serve the people of your county, and honor him with one or two terms in office in order that he might show to the world his make up? Who knows but what he will make just as good an officer as Jones boy or Smith's boy. Give him a chance. That is my sentiments. Don't confer all the honor and glory on one or two men, but let them step out and allow your boys a chance.
Rotation in office - do you believe in it? If you don't, why not elect those third office - seekers for life, and stop making them spend all they make the first two terms trying to get elected the third time. Now which are you willing to do? I am in favor of doing one or the other But you say oh! we cannot elect for life time.
That is not democracy, and against the constitution. Well I say why don't you quit it if it is not democracy? If you are a democrat stick up to, democratic principles. This is a small thing but small thing's makes large ones.
I believe when a man has served two terms and has made a good record, that is exactly what we put him there for, and nothing else, I wonder if they want us to keep them in office for doing what they were to do. Do they want us to keep them in office until they do some low down thing to make us kick them out and say. "now go to world for your living."
We again call your attention to our speaking at Grady school house, Saturday night, June 11, 1904. All candidates are invited.

J. T. ADAMS.
