STABBING AT STRANGER.
----------
LEONARD OWEN IS SERIOUSLY CUT IN A
FIGHT.
----------

Information reached the city Thursday of a serious cutting affray at Stranger in which Leonard Owen received a dangerous wound in the abdomen at the hands of a man by the name of Abernathy.
The parties had some difficulty several days since but it was believed by their friends that the matter had been amicably adjusted. However, the trouble was renewed when they met at Stranger.
An ax handle and a knife were the weapons used. Owen received a knife wound in the Abdomen that punctured the cavity. It is considered a very serious one, but at last reports the wounded man was resting quietly.
Owen was raised on Blue Ridge and is well known in Marlin. Abenathy came from Georgia and has been at Stranger about two years.
