NOTICE,
SHERIFF'S SALE.
The State of Texas,
County of Falls
By virtue of an order of sale, issued out of the
Honorable District, court of Falls county on the 9th day of April A. D. 1904. by
the clerk thereof, in the case of Marlin National Bank vs. J. A. Wardlaw, No.
6409, and to me, as sheriff, directed and delivered, I will proceed to sell for
cash, within the hours prescribed by law for sheriff's sales, on the first
Tuesday in May AD 1904, it being third day of said month, before the court house
door of said Falls county, in the city of Marlin, the following described
property, to-wit: That certain tract of land in Falls county,
Texas, on the James Marlin league east of the Brazos river, and being a part of
a 82 acre tract set apart to Martha Long in the division of the estate of W. L.
Wardlaw, deceased, Beginning at the s e. corner of said 82 acre tract in the s.
line of the James Marlin league from which a hackberry tree brs s. 59 w. 26 7:10
vrs. to a pecan tree mkd.. "w" brs 47 w. 29 1/2 vrs; thence s. 59 W. with
s. line of said league 458 1-5 vrs to a stake from which a large elm brs s. 59
1/2 w. 149 1-10 vrs and a pecan tree 5 inches in diameter mkd X brs 54 1/2 e 43
1/10 vrs; thence n. 31 ,w, at 21vrs, bed of slough and 416 vrs a stake for n.
w.. corner of this tract; thence n. 59 eo 480 vrs, crossing and recrossing the
above slough to stake for n. e. corner of this tract from which an elm tree
marked "S" brs n. 29 w. 3 4/15 vrs, thence s. 29 e. with said Peyton's s.
w. line 416 on to the place of beginning. Containing 34 2/10 acres of land.
Levied on as the property of J. A. Wardlaw to satisfy a
judgment amounting to $1,070.96 in favor of Marlin National Bank and costs of
suit.
