Lula Wright, a negress was placed in jail Sunday on a charge of stealing $4.50 worth of buttons.

Arthur Threadgill has had a cup - which may justly be called the "Marlin cup" - specially engraved, showing several of the prominent buildings of the city. The engraving was done in Germany and the metal composition of the cup is handsome and durable. It is easily the most attractive souvenir that has ever been made in Marlin.
