       In response to the call issued Tuesday by Mayor Wm. Shelton about sixty citizens of Marlin assembled at the Arlington hotel Tuesday night for the purpose of taking action with respect to the location of the I. & G. N. shops in Marlin.
       Judge Shelton was called to the chair and stated the object (of the) meeting.  He dwelt upon (missing)

       On motion of W. W. Allen a committee was appointed to go to Palestine to confer with General Superintendent Leroy Trice and ascertain from him what the conditions for the location of the shops in Marlin would be, the committee to report at a subsequent meeting of the club.  The following were selected:  Wm. Shelton, chairman, W. A. Patrick, A Y Curtis, J A Martin, B H Rice, T A Cheeves, L E Allen, B C Nettles, C W Rush, D S Eddins, W M Gunnell, L Z Harrison.
       Judge Shelton urged the citizens to advertise the Marlin water, pointing out the great benefits to be derived therefrom and declared that every resident of Marlin had been financially benefitted by the hot well, even to the poor widow women (missing) spare room or two to (missing.

       C. T. Curry was elected treasurer.
       On motion of Dan M. Jackson the temporary organization was made permanent.
       A committee on by laws and constitution was appointed as (missing): B. H. Rice, L P Robert----, George Frank, to report (missing) May 8.
       Resolution offered by J. M. Kennedy was adopted:
       Resolved, That this club ratify and confirm in all respects the action of the citizens and city council in extending an invitation to the Texas Press Association to meet in Marlin in 1903.
       In motion of Captain G. A. King a vote of thanks was extended manager L Z Harrison for the use of the room for meeting purposes.
