THE TRADES DAY AT LOTT.

Lots of People and Many Prizes Awarded.

       The citizens of Lott have set aside the first Wednesday in each month as trades day and the opening was held this week.  There were a great many people present and the day proved a success in all respects.  All who have anything they desire trade, sell or barter were invited to be on hand with their stock.  A great many trades and sales are reported.
       Prizes were offered by the merchants of Lott and the following were awarded:
       John Peters, best pair match mules.  Fine Stetson hat by J H King & Son.
       Ike Peevy, best two year old colt.  Pair of shoes by B M Goodman.
       J W Lawless, best bull.  One thousand shingles by Markham & Reese.
       A P Wootton, oldest mule (33 years.)  Sacks of bran by Lott Milling and Elevator Co.
       Hamp Liles, best mule colt. Fine rocker by W M Gunnell & Co.
       John Jordan, best saddle horse.  Pair shoes by J R Haden & Co.
       Uncle Billie Golding, poorest horse.  Box stock powders by A M Gordon.
       J C Perry, best hog.  Cash prize $2.50 by Dr. Jackson.
      
       The judges were unable to decide on the entries for the best all purpose horse and the prize, a $5 trunk offered by Ruble & Angier was not awarded.
       The next trades day will be the first Wednesday in December.
