THE JACK SMITH CASE.

       In district court the case of the state of Texas against Jack Smith charged with criminal assault is on trial.
       This case was tried in district court here at the January term and resulted in a verdict of guilty but the court of criminal appeals reversed and remanded the case.  The public, generally, is familiar with the causes of the prosecution.
       The jury before whom Smith is being charged is composed of the following gentlemen:
       J. L. Erskine, W. H. Jones, H O Bargainier, Emil Newman, H. K. Hancock, J. P. Norwood, G. W. Simmons, H. H. Guffe, J. A. Kirkpatrick, G. W. Hay, Joe Bolin and M. A. Reese.
