       The City Council in regular session Monday passed an order authorizing the purchase of 2 1/2 acres of land out of the Bartlett property for a site for the public school building.  The consideration being $4,500.00  No disposition has yet been made as to the present school property bu it is quite probable that the compress will be located on a portion of it.

OTHER PROCEEDINGS.

       Officers reports were read and approved.
       A motion was made by Alderman McComb to turn money derived from sale of school bonds over to school board for erection of the school building.  This motion was later withdrawn and a motion was made by Lenoir and adopted, that the council and school board proceed with the examination of plans and specifications.
       After examining the plans etc, Alderman Lenoir made a motion to accept the plans and specifications of Messer & Smith, and Cousins to accept those of Herbert Cousins' motion was adopted.  Lenoir and Curry voting no.
       The resignation of Dan M. Jackson as city attorney was accepted.
       The delinquent tax roll for 1901 were presented to the council by City assessor and collector F. M. Burkhead.  No action was taken thereon.
