The Flower Show And Parade A Grand One.

       The flower show and merchant's parade Friday was a dazzling spectacle of beauty, of harmony and of lovliness.  Five thousand people lined the streets to witness the progress of the pageant.
       The floats were striking evidences of precision in execution.  The people were at once surprised and pleased.  It was a success in every respect, every part of it and the whole.  This was easily the best day of the week.
       The long parade formed around the square and moved on Coleman to east limit of the city, south to Live Oak and along same to square, thence to Arlington for disperse.  The parade was under the supervision of Sheriff C. P. Carlton and his assistants and was successfully managed in every respect.
       The multitude evidenced their approval of the various features of the parade by demonstrative applause.  The music was excellent.

Floats and Vehicles.

       The following business firms and individuals, and clubs were represented in the parade:
      
       T. S. Clark, furniture--"House of Seven Gables" furnished from his furniture store.  Miss Collins, of Athens, T. S. Clark, Little Miss Lillian Clark.

       Curtis & Co., dry goods, shoes, millinery--Largeeggshell, swans; carnation white.  Miss Gussie Alexander, Little Misses Reba Davidson and Lucy Kesse, Masters Wm. Curry and Charley Robertson.

       R. B. Spencer & Bros., lumber--Modern cottage on wheels; display of sash, doors, etc.  Handsomely decorated, Misses Carlton, Mary Powell, Florence McKinney, Mamie Allison, Florence Hunnicutt.

       Nettles & Holloway, gent's furnishings--Boy shining shoes, representing their free shine feature.  Decorations white, red, blue and black.  Palm in front; drawn by six mules.  J. C. Fountain.

       Queen's Chariot, throne--Exquisite decorations and trimmings.  Carnation white drawn by six horses.  Miss Watson; Maids, Misses Katie Dupree, Agnes and Sallie Peyton, Finks, Barclay, Shelton and Potts, Little Misses Annie Hunter and Bessie Mildred Herron, Master B. J. Linthicum; Jr.

       Nash, Robinson & Co., lumber--Cage, with lion tamer and "lions," Red banners, Shields, Drawn by six mules.

       Allen Drug Co. Japanese scheme--Purple and gold.  Miss Lee Shields.

       L. Wellenbach, tailor--Burro, decorated.  L. Wellenbach.

       Rush, Gardner, Bartlett Co, hardware and furniture--Dining room and kitchen scene.  "Majestic Range" cooking meals, served by waiters in full uniform to party at table.  Messrs. Charles Bryden, A. H. Snead, L. J. Davis, Misses Henrietta Bryden, Reba Perkins and Bessie Thomas.

       Abe Louis, dry goods and clothing--Old fashion phaeton, reversed movement, guided by two men, horse "pushing" from rear.  Circulars distributed advertising goods.  Very comical.

       Nash, Robinson & Co.--Boat resting in water.  Decorations, pond lillies and colors.  Little Misses Levy, Francis Crawford Marguerette Kessee, Irene Irma Allen, Virginia Eddins, Masters Willis Lang Allen, L. E. Allen, Jr.

       Ladies Social Club--Tableau, from "Mignon in the Summer land,"  Sea shell, decorated in pink and white.  Miss Conoly, representing Mignon, eight of little girls, Little Misses Katie Kessee, Mary Dunkum, Pauline Cheeves, Madeline Robertson Hazel Davidson, Alice Eddins, Louisa Houx, Emma Russel Hunter, representing angels.  This surpasses description in its loveliness.  A brilliant effort of the decorators art.  Drawn by tandem team of grays, handsomely groomed.

       Donohoo Bros', confectionery--Decorated "go cart," ocupied (sic) by members of the firm.

       Mrs. B. J. Linthicum--buggy, decorations, poppies.  Misses Wharton and DeBardeleben.

       B. C. Clark--Decorated vehicle drawn by five months old "Elite." Blooded horse display.

       Mrs. C. T. Hunter, decorated buggy.  Misses Pauline and Annie Louise Hunter.

       Mr. and Mrs. welle--decorated buggy representing German coach.  Little Miss Rudolin and Master welle.

       James R. Taylor--carriage, decorations, purple and gold. Mesdames Lenoir and Taylor.

       Misses Goodrich--carriage, decorations, pink.  Misses Madeline Bartlett, Alice Goodrich, Anna Paul Jones, Mary Goodrich.

       Miss Minette Alexander--buggy; yellow decorations.

       Fannin & Son--carriage, pink and white.  Mr. and Mrs. C. L. Fannin.

       Dr. J. A. Davis--vetinnary (sic), live stock.

       Fannin, Hodges & Co.--groceries, display of their merchandise, red.white and blue.  Herman weibush.

       Wiley Davis--livery, girls on horseback.

       Miss Norma Chatham--bicycle, decorated; pink and white. A lovely creation.

       Little Misses Pauline Battle and Callie Peyton--buggy, decorations, white and blue.  Outriders:  Masters Tommie and Zenas Bartlett, Frank Finks and Tom Goodrich.  Shetlands.

       S. N. Donohoo, ice and cold storage--ice and soda water display; S. N. Donohoo, J H Taylor.

       J. H. Herron, druggist--prize buggy on float.

       Wednesday Matinee musical Club--purple and gold.  Little Miss Alva Fountain.

       Fire Department--chemica(l) and hook and ladder company.

       King Nilram and staff, Masqued and mounted.

       Marlin Grocery Co.--Display of merchandise.  Tom Sanders.

       J. A. Martin--Shetland cart, decorations, black and yellow.  Little Miss Spivey.
