LOCALS.

-----

    R. F. Pool is here from Cameron and is doing nicely now.  Mr. Pool says that he will start his saw mill again just as soon as the the boiler, which is on the road, arrives.  He hopes to have every thing moving by the first of next month.  He adds that while he has always hooted the idea of Friday being an unlucky day, and is not converted to this theory yet, he thinks that it will be just as convenient to start the mill on some other day.

The turkey case of C. D. Newbold vs I. & G. N. Railway on trial in Judge Dashiell's court, resulted in a judgment for $11.50 in favor of the plaintiff.  The nature of the suit was to recover damages in the above amount against the road for the killing of about 15 turkeys that were picking up loose grains on defendant's tracks.  While fowls were thus absorbed in an effort to get all the corn an engine came along and caught them.

    T. G. Maraburger has returned to Cameron after a brief visit to Marlin.
