LOCALS.

       Mr. Loomas Yowell of this city and Miss Tinnie Rickett of Waco were married at the bride's residence yesterday afternoon and will make Marlin their future home.

       The wife of Mr. Jeff Williams, a prominent farmer of Blue Ridge, died Sunday morning.  The interment took place at the Reagan cemetery Monday morning. 
The Democrat extends cordolence (sic) to the bereaved ones.

       The rope walking and high dive entertainment advertised to take place at the park Sunday was all off by order of the Mayor who rules that no admission fee can be charged on Sunday.

       Capt. Geo King is attending the Senatorial convention at Waco and is having a streak of hard luck, having lost his mascot, a horse shoe which he found at Cameron and is sure to see the candidate it's owner favors nominated.  We hope it will finally find it's way back to the Captain.

       L L Shields of Santa Anna is in the city hoping to be benefitted by the water.

       Joe Jacobs a prominent merchant of Navasota is a guest at the Arlington.

       There was a lively shooting scrape at High Bank a few nights ago, but no one was hurt.  The row occurred among the negro section hands and for a time the was was furious.
