       Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Fullinwider are visiting relatives in the city.

       Mrs. R. Lee Joyner of Caldwell is the guest of her sister, Mrs. E. P. Hutchings.

       Mesdames Singer and Norwood are visiting in Houston, to attend the wedding of Miss Kheo.

       Miss Margaret Price has returned to her after a visit to friends in Marlin.

       Martin Holm and wife, who were visitors to marlin, have returned to their in Mexia.

       Mrs. T. N. Bemus, who was the guest of relatives in the city, has returned to her in Brookshire.

       M. E. Moorehead and Miss Ola Moorehead of Bremond were visitors to the city Thursday afternoon.

       John P. Atkinson is in Crockett on business.  He denies the rumor that he is going over there to be elected justice of the peace.

       Miss Jeffie Pringle is the latest of the teachers to have the dengue.  Her place in the schools is being filled by Miss Ruth Allen.

       E. L. Waller, with the Palestine Printing company, is a health visitor to Marlin.  He is taking a lay off and is using the hot water.

       Dr. S. P. Rice has returned from a visit to Waco, where he was called to see Mrs. McKenney.  The lady is still in a very critical condition.

       J. Douglasfs paid a fine of $5 in Judge Dashiell's court Wednesday afternoon on a charge of cutting a cow that was the property of another.

       Miss Mary Southall and C. A. Manchenn of the New Salem community were united in marriage Friday afternoon at the court house, Judge Boyles officiating.

       A letter from A. H. Snead in San Francisco states that his brother, Dr. J. C. Snead, has been quite ill with dengue fever since returning from Texas.  At the time of writing he was improving nicely.

       W. R. McAnally and wife of Hamilton, who have been visiting in Marlin, left today for Temple.  Mr. McAnally resided in this county with his parents fifty-five years ago, leaving here for Hamilton in 1855.  He was here again in 1865, the last time until this.  While in this county he resided ten miles east of Marlin.  He found none of his former acquaintances here.
