       Mr. and Mrs.  C. L. Robertson came up from Reagan Sunday afternoon on a visit, Mr. Robertson going on to Waco on business.

       District Clerk M. V. Bradshaw is among the latest victims of dengue.  Deputy County Clerk Snell is still ill with it.  Pink Eddins, who was very ill Saturday is some better today.

       Dr. L. Werblun, optician of San Antonio, who makes regular visits to Marlin will be here at the Rice-Allen Infirmary October 14 and 15.  Examination of the eyes free.

       Ludie Diggs was placed in jail Sunday afternoon on a charge of assault on W. E. Walker.  The richasha (sic) occurred as the 2:20 I. & G. N. train pulled out and caused some amusement for the crowd on the street at the time.  No serious damages resulted from the mixup.

       Oltorf & Emerson, agents for the round bale press in Marlin, are paying 12 cents for middling cotton.  Farmers who want the highest price will do well to see them before selling.

       Mayor Peterson states that the city is anxious to secure the services of a good street cleaner to take the place of A. R. Pyle who resigned very suddenly some time since.  The subject of cleanliness is a very important one and certainly deserves attention in Marlin just at this time.

       Drop in at the Boston Tailoring Co., and see the new electrical pressing from iron at work.  It does the pressing quicker and better than any other iron and it will interest you to see it running.

       Cousins & Schub shipped 3000 pounds of pecans to northern markets Monday.  This is the largest shipment that has gone out from Marlin this season.  The crop is being gathered now and brought to market.  They find ready sales here as competition is keen.
