LOCAL HAPPENINGS.

 

    Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Hoke are attending the Texas Conference at Houston.

 

    Mrs. W. G. Spencer of Marshall is visiting in Marlin, a guest at the Maybell.

 

    Judge L. B. Milam of Dallas is a recent arrival in the city.  The judge finds Marlin a most congenial place to visit.

 

    Mr. and Mrs. R. O. Jones of New Orleans are visitors to Marlin.  Mr. Jones was formerly engaged in the grocery business in Marlin.

    This is the second notice of the annual cake and pie say the ladies of St. John's Guild.  The third notice will appear next Tuesday and the cakes and pies on Wednesday.

    J. W. Golledge of Ardmore, Oklahoma is a visitor to Marlin.  Mr. Golledge was engaged in the newspaper business at Ardmore for fifteen years, and before that for several years in Waco, where he published the first daily paper in Central Texas, The Waco Advance.
