Briefly Told.

       There is some discussion as to forming a swimming club in Marlin, for the purpose of utilizing the natural advantages at the falls of the Brazos and the moonlight.

       R. F. Carter has purchased a house and lot from J. W. Hoke on East Live Oak Street and has moved into it.

-----

       For Sale--250 acres of land, six miles north of Marlin.  Terms easy.

       Mrs. J. K. Glenn, sister of Judge Wm . Shelton is visiting at the Shelton and is accompanied by her daughter-in-law, Mrs. Margaret Glenn.  They reside in Courtland, Miss.

       Hon. Zenas Bartlett and Capt. Frank Oakes were introduced into the mysteries of the Elks lodge Thursday night.  Both survived the ordeal with fortitude and are wearing the antlers with becoming dignity.

       J.P. Moore and wife who were visiting Mrs. J. W. Norwood for several days left Thursday afternoon for Houston on a short visit.  Mr. Moore was reared in this community, leaving here 20 years ago for the west.

       B. C. Nettles, Dr. Davison, F. S. Heffner, W. Z. Burke and Capt. J. A. Martin left Wednesday for Tarpon on a fishing trip.  Some of these gentlemen have reputations as expert tarpon catchers, and it will be well for the game fish to stop biting for a while.

       J. T. Nichols of Galveston came to Marlin two weeks ago on a stretcher, suffering with rheumatism.  Monday and Tuesday nights he was at the park dancing without any signs of his affliction.  Mr. Nichols is one of the happiest men in the state on account of the great relief he has derived here, and is a strong advocate of Marlin and her hot water.

Notice of Estray Sale

       Notice is hereby given, that on the 16th day of December, 1907, the same being the third Monday in said month, I will sell at public auction, at my farm, 13 miles north east of Marlin, to the highest bidder, between the hours of one and three o'clock p.m. the following estray aniamls, viz:  One red steer 3 or 4 years old, no brand, mark crop off left ear and split in right ear.  The same as estrayed by me before W. P. Dashiell, a justice of the peace in and for Precinct No. 1, Falls county, Texas, on the 12th day of June, 1907.    A. L. Coleman
