CONNER GOES TO WASHINGTON
Mr. and Mrs. A. B. Conner of Marlin left Sunday for Washington, D.C. on a 10-day trip where Mr. Conner will meet with members of the National Cotton Advisory Committee. Mr. Conner was recently chosen as a member of that committee by Secretary of Agriculture Brannan, under the terms of the National Research Marketing Act.

Charles Ross Harlan who is confined to a Marlin hospital for treatment is reported to be improving. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Ross Magee.

The Lamar Demonstration Club members will meet in the of Mrs. Lem Williams, 424 Live Oak Street, on Wednesday, March 1st, where Mrs. I. W.
Franklin will be the hostess. A demonstration on egg dishes will be given by the training leaders.

BASS STRIKES AT THE FISHERMAN, LANDS IN BOAT
Garland Barton and Keith Birkes are telling about their experience with the viciousness of a black bass. The incident happened last week at the old Oil Mill Lake. While fishing there in a boat and without any success during the late afternoon, the two men had started rowing the boat back to shore. A bass weighing mover three pounds jumped over the oar and into the bottom of the boat. It was captured, Barton and Birkes claim the fishing season is to be successfully opened so long as their experiences continue in this manner.
