       Miss Mildred Vanderford of Franklin underwent an operation in Marlin this morning.

       The Susanna Wesley Bible Class meets in the of Mrs. Z. I. Harlan Tuesday afternoon at three o'clock.

       Marlin firemen were called out at 11:11 o'clock Saturday night by a false alarm from box No. 53, corner Capps and Gresham streets.

       Children of the Marlin Elementary school will give an Armistice Day program in the school auditorium at nine a.m. Tuesday, the public being invited to attend.

       Luman Parton underwent an operation in Marlin Saturday evening, being brought here from Albany where he was stricken ill by his brother, E. J. Parton.

       Claude Reeves, local manager of the Community Gas Co. was released from the hospital and returned to Marlin Saturday, having about recovered from the burns sustained in a gas line fire at Mart.

       Senator Tom Connally of Marlin attended the funeral at San Antonio Sunday of Congressman H. M. Wurzbach, being one of six United States senators named by Vice President Curtis to officially represent the senate at last rites for deceased.

       After four preliminary meetings all the ex-Boy Scouts of Marlin joining the the new organization of boys in Memorial Cabin will formally being their new work tonight at 7:30.  A constitution will be presented at this time and the name of the new organization announced, states Rev. F. P. Goddard.

       Mrs. Mollie Bartlett and Mrs. Frank Oltorf attended funeral services at Austin Saturday for John LaPrelle, Jr., mortally wounded while hunting near Hondo Thursday when his gun was discharged as he crawled under a fence.  He had bagged his quota of doves and was on his way to his automobile to return when the accident occured.  He lived at San Antonio.
