E. S. Singer states he is leaving Wednesday for the United States Veterans' Hospital at Alexandria, La., for an operation.

Walter Sutter of Cego was winner of the rural senior boys' declamation district contest of the Texas Interscholastic League of Waco Saturday.

E. M. Regenbrecht, swine husbandry specialist with the extension
service of A. and M. College of Texas and a former Falls county farm
agent, was a convention visitor, accompanied by his family.  He attended the A. and M. College Ex-Students luncheon.

R.W. Thompson of Houston called at the Democrat office Monday.  He expressed himself highly pleased with Marlin and the progress it has made.  He married a former Marlin girl, Miss Katie Quinn, daughter of Jim Quinn, an early resident of Marlin.
