Briefly Told

B. L. Moore of Bryan was operated upon in Marlin today.

Mrs. W. L. Sherrill of Gladewater underwent an operation in Marlin today.

Jack Phillips is confined to his with an attack of mumps believed to have been contracted on a recent visit in Fort Worth.

Senator Tom Connally of Marlin in on the program for an address at the Texas American Legion convention in El Paso during the last week in August.

Dr. and Mrs. J. E. Manney and daughter, Edwina, of Waco, are visiting in the of Mr. and Mrs. C. B. Eskridge.  Dr. Manney is taking a course of baths while here.

A. C. Doughty arrived in Marlin from San Francisco, Calif., Friday afternoon to be with his brother, W. F. Doughty, former Texas superintendent of public instruction, who has been under treatment here for sometime.

Mesdames Jake Kroll and Frank Handelman and Ike Handelman and Leon Adams have returned from a visit through the West, including Carlsbad Cavern and other localties (sic) of scenic interest.  On the way out they picked up Maurice Kroll and Ben Handelman who were in camp at Rio Vista, near Kerrville.

Out of town relatives attending the funeral in Marlin Friday afternoon of Henry Anderson, who died Monday at Las Vegas, N. M., included Mrs. Henry Anderson, who accompanied the body here, Mr. and Mrs. W. L. Anderson and Howard Anderson, Dallas; Mr. and Mrs. C. C. Morris, Rosebud; Wm. Anderson, Mrs. Beatrice Manning and baby and Mrs. Moore, Houston.  Mrs. Anderson, wife of deceased, planned to leave today for Houston, her former home.
