       I. J. Nathan has returned from a ten days' visit to Dallas and other north Texas points and the Indian Territory.  He had a good rest and enjoyed the trip, generally.

       Dr. H. P. Curry of Reagan says the new bank there is about ready to open.  The opening has been delayed much longer than expected on account of the non arrival of the safe and other fixtures.

       Mrs. J. W. Cook and daughter, Mrs. Paine, who have been in Colorado for two months, are visiting friends at McGregor and will return this week.

       The 3-year-old son of T. B. Bulls of Alvin had his head shot off by an accidental discharge of a shot gun.  No one was in the at that time except a brother two years older.

       Terrell gets next annual meeting of Texas Corn Growers' association in January.

       STRAYED--Cow and calf six months old.  No brank or mark.  When last seen cow had on halter and 30 feet of chain.  Calf had on muzzle.  Cow 2 1-2 years old, no horns; calf 6 months old, horns sprouting.  Will pay suitable reward for information.  Rev.        Editor Geo. A. Hodges and Miss Lillian Glass of Lott were callers at The Democrat office Wednesday to see the linotype in operation.  Miss Glass is assisting Editor Hodges in the business department of the Lott Clarion and they are making a good paper.

Sale of Bankrupt Stock.

       T. W. Bryan, receiver in bankruptcy, sold the stock of goods, notes and accounts of D. Kemp of Cameron, Tuesday.  The goods, amounting as per inventory to $9800, were bought by Cheeves Bros. of Cameron for $5500. and the notes and accounts, amounting to $2800, by R. P. Pool for $425.
