Briefly Told

       R. A. Casey of Houston is a Marlin visitor.  He has been with the postoffice department in Houston for several years.

       Dr. J. W. Torbett has accepted an invitation to entertain Old Settlers and Confederate Veterans reunion July 16 with special poetry, music and philosophy.

       The Intermediate girls of the First Baptist sunday school had an all day Missionary study course in the of their teacher, Mrs. S. D. Dollahite today.  "Livingston of Pathfinder" was subject of the book studied.  10 girls were in attendance.  They had lunch at the noon hour.

       A twelve year old boy admitted to City Marshal Walston today that he entered the Duke & Ayres store, reported Sunday night.  He told what he did with the money and that he told his mother a different story.  On account of his youthful age he was allowed to go on the promise he would be good henceforth.

       Mrs. F. B. Bratton and son, Ray Bratton, Mr. and Mrs. G. A. Pringle and family of Victoria, Frank Bratton of Houston, Mr. and Mrs. Will Cain of Nacogdoches, Mrs. M. P. Gillis of Marshall, Mrs. Elba Springfield of Waco, and Fred Bratton of Kosse were called here account of the serious illness of B. C. Bratton, Jr., today.
