Briefly Told

       Members of Falls county post No. 31 American Legion will meet in the assembly hall, second floor of the Marlin city hall, at eight o'clock tonight for its regular May session.

       Mr. and Mrs. R. D. Powell and Mrs. J. B. Powell of Waco spent Wednesday in Marlin with Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Rush and Mrs. and H. G. Rush in the of the latter.

         Mrs. Sidney Allison left today for Annapolis, Md., to attend commencement exercises of the United States naval academy, her nephew, James Murphy of Marlin, being a member of the graduating class.

       Appeal of E. W. Jordan, given two years by a jury in Falls county district court on a conviction of passing a forged instrument, was submitted on the state's brief to the Texas court of criminal appeals at Austin Wednesday.

       Miss Sadie Hatfield of College Station, district demonstration agent for the extension service of A. and M. College of Texas, was in Marlin today for a conference with Miss Onah Jacks, Falls county demonstration agent.
