PLEASANT GROVE GOSSIP

To The Democrat:

We had a rain Saturday evening.  It will be helpful to the sweet potato and peanut crops.

The Baptist church at this place called Rev. B. J. Patrick as pastor for another year.  He will leave for Waco about the last of the month to attend school at Baylor.

       J. D. Butts and grandson, Zelma, and Miss Mattie Collins have returned from their visit to Scurry county.  J. D. says that county looks well enough, but thinks a good deal of the soil is far behind old Falls county in lasting qualities, as it has a rock foundation instead of clay subsoil.

Ab Daury of Golddust visited relatives here.

Clara Brown and Miss Sallie Fuller were united in marriage Sunday night at 7:30 at the residence of Rev. B. J. Patrick.

       J. D. Swanner is attending court in Marlin this week.

There is quite a number from this community who will attend the fair in Marlin this week.

       D. P. Moore and Mrs. Mildred Robertson were united in marriage Thursday night at 8 at the of Rev. B. J. Patrick, the reverend officiating.  Mr. Moore lives near Lott.                         A.S.B.
