George Woodland, b February 29, 1868 at Blue Ridge, Falls County, Texas, d July 4, 1960 in Marlin, Texas-a son of Henry and Lucinda (Barclay) Woodland of Indiana and Texas, respectively. On January 21, 1895 in Marlin, George married Clarac Alma Johnson, b December 23, 1878 at Blue Ridge, d September 17, 1937 in Marlin-a daughter of Albert John Pickney (sic Pinchney) and Lydia Ann Clementine (Jackson) Johnson of South Carolina and Alabama, respectively.
George and Clarac were married in his on the southeast corner of Walker and Houghton Streets by Reverend J.F. McLean, a Baptist minister of Reagan and Blue Ridge. They lived there for five years until Clarac told him not to come if he could not find a better place to live. George walked down around the corner and located a house at 525 Gift Street and Woodland Alley, purchasing the front three-fourth acre lot in 1900, and the back three-fourth acre lot in 1917. They built a carriage barn, planted an orchard, pecan trees, gardens, and a berry patch. They had a well and a cistern, a workshop, storeroom, and smoke house, and had a guest house in the back.
George had blue eyes and dark hair which never turned gray. He was interested in political and local affiars, always voting until his death. He was a cotton and corn farmer, and a ginner-working at that trade while in Claifornia for three years. In 1916 he bought 117 acres south of Marlin and ran the Live Oak Dairy for many years. In 1928, George and Orr A. Edwards, son of Margie (Dillard) Edwards, was a Jackson cousin of Clarac, bought two sections of land at Encinal, Texas. "Yad" subsequently sold out to George, and the land remained in the family until 1968 when his daughter sold it.
George and Clarac Woodland had only one child:

Allma Clarac Woodland, b March 4, 1908, d December 7, 1975-married September 3, 1932 to Kit Carson Pratt, b August 1, 1900 and d July 7, 1937. Their only child was

Alma Lavonne (Pratt) Rogers. The Pratts and Carsons were from the Smythe and Grayson County, Virginia. Alma Woodland Pratt was married to Harold Waldemar Swenson, b April 19, 1901, d April 12, 1966, for the last 25 years of their lives.

Lavonne, b October 10, 1935, maried Harry F. Rogers, b June 22, 1926, on April 6, 1958, and their three daughters are:

Roshay Lavonne, b June 24, 1960;
Rosanne Dawn, b March 24, 1962; and
Rosemary Faith, b December 23, 1963.
