Thomas Oscar Whatley, b March 3, 1879 in Falls County, Texas, died in the 1930's in Fort Worth, Texas-was one of the younger children of James Oscar and Mary Jane (Duty) Whatley, early settlers in West Falls County. His known siblings were: Oregana Whatley, b 1859; Henry Whatley, b 1865; Sarah Whatley, b 1867; James Whatley, b 1869. Others are unknown.
About 1897, Thomas Oscar Whatley was married to Mary Lou Lutteral, b November 14, 1883 in Falls County, d June 22, 1957 in Arlington and aburied by her husband in Greenwood Cemetery, Fort Worth, Texas-a daughter of George Washington and Sue Ellen (Litteral) Lutteral, who are buried in Powers Chapel Cemetery.
Thomas and Mary lived in the Blue Ridge area of Falls County for a time after their marriage, and he was a farmer. Their six children were all born in that area:
William Henry Whatley, b 1898, d 1924-married ca 1918 to Flossie Ida Mae Oden, b January 22, 1900 in Falls County, d October 1981. They had three children before William died; Oscar James Whatley, b January 22, 1919 in Falls County, d April 24, 1979-married Lillie Irene Johnson; Marjorie Louise Whatley, b August 26, 1921-married April 22, 1939, but her husband's names is unknown; and Gladys Sue Whatley, b June 21, 1923, d June 24, 1981. After William Henry died, Flossie was married second on December 25, 1925 to George Lloyd Redden, and they had two children: Edna LaVern Redden, b August 3, 1927, and Grady Lloyd Redden, b January 26, 1933.
Vivian Thomas Whatley, b 1901-married and had two children.
Ollie Mae Whatley, b October 9, 1905, d October 3, 1942-married a Mr. McGowan, and had several children.
Gladys Belle Whatley, b December 23, 1907-married first to a Mr. Fallawell and had one child, and married second to R.W. Grimes, and moved to Arlington, Texas.
Ruby Mozelle Whatley, b November 4, 1913-married to G.W. Chandler, and had one child. They moved to Fort Worth, Texas.
Esta Faye Whatley, b November 21, 1918-married M.C. Johnson, and had two children. They moved to Fort Worth, Texas.

About 1897, Thomas Oscar Whatley was married to Mary Lou Lutteral, b November 14, 1883 in Falls County, d June 22, 1957 in Arlington. Their daughter,Gladys Belle Whatley, was my grandmother. She married Felton Aubrey Folowell not Fallawell.
