ALBERT BRADY PAMPLIN

 

Albert Brady Pamplin (called "Brady"), b May 28, 1907 at Mustang Prairie, Falls County, Texas, d June 1, 1986 in Marlin, Falls County, Texas and buried there in Hillcrest Cemetery - was a son of Thomas Oscar and Mamie Virginia (Dunn) Pamplin, natives of Falls County; and a grandson of Wilson A. and Maria (Brown) Pamplin, pioneer settlers in Falls County.

Brady served in World War II, and spent a lifetime in law enforcement in Falls County. He was a Texas Ranger, and served as a Deputy Sheriff until he entered the military service. After the war, he was elected Sheriff of Falls County - succeeding Sheriff Lester O. Hay, who retired - and served in that capacity from January 1, 1946 until his retirement in 1976.

On May 15, 1944, Brady was married to Gladys Lorrine Miles, b March 24, 1919. They were members of the First Methodist Church of Marlin.

Brady and Gladys lived in the Sheriff's apartment at the County Jail, where they reared three of their four sons - all graduates of Marlin High School:

Brady Miles Pamplin, b February 12, 1945 in Marlin - married Charlene Moore and resides in Dallas, Texas. He works for the Control Data Data Company as a Computer Specialist. They have three daughters Anita, Celeste, and Sharon Pamplin.

Larry Gene Pamplin, b February 10, 1948 in Marlin - has spent his entire life in Marlin. except when away during his college years. He studied Criminal Law at Sam Houston University, and worked in Juvenile and Adult Probation offices in McLennan and Falls Counties. When his father retired, Larry was appointed to complete his father's term of office, and he has been elected Sheriff of Falls County for ten years.

On June 17, 1972 in the Western Heights Church in Waco, Larry was married to Gloria Henington, who has been a Spanish teacher in the Marlin Independent School District since her marriage. They have one daughter: Jennifer Pamplin, b January 9, 1978 in Waco, Texas.

Roger Gale Pamplin - was born and died January 18, 1949, and buried in Calvary Cemetery. Texas.

Trent Alan Pamplin, b July 19, 1958 in Marlin operates the Pamplin Alarm and Security System, married to Mary D' Anne Semetko.

Gladys Lorrine (Miles) Pamplin continues to reside in Marlin. She was a daughter of Gilbert aud (Frazer) Miles, who were both buried in Boone Prairie near Bremond, Robertson County, Texas. Her Mildred Miles, married Glenn W. Smith. and. .. .. daughter, Mildred Jeannine Smith, b July 22. 1934 in Franklin, Robertson County, Texas who married John Orrin Trethewey, Jr., b November 22, 1933 in Miami Gila County, Arizona - a son of John Orrin and line Evadna (Garrett) Tretheway , and a grandson James Thomas and Zenobia Ann (Cornelison)

(both native of Falls County).
