Frank "Peck" Oltorf

Frank Oltorf, b march 11, 1885 in Marlin, Falls County, Texas, d march 9, 1936 and buried in Calvary Cemetery in Marlin -- was the youngest son of Thomas Clifton and Sarah (Clavert) Oltorg. Frank attended the Marlin public schools, and the law school of The University of Texas. He began his law practice in 1907 in Marlin, and was elected district attorney for two terms. Subsequently. Frank formed the law firm of Oltorf and Oltorf with his brother, Prentice Oltorf, who was a former district judge.
On March 5, 1922, Frank Oltorf was married to Madeline Bartlett, b December 3, 1884, d September 30, 1964 -- a daughter of Charles Henry and Mary (Mollie" Dickson) Bartlett. Frank and Madeline Oltorf were parents of one sone , Frank Calvert Oltorf (called "Posh"), b january 20, 1923 who married Rowene B. Weems.
Frank "Peck" Oltorf was a charter member of the Brazos River Conservation and Reclamation District, and served on its esecutive committee until the time of his death. He was appointed to its board by Governor Ross Sterling, and reappointed by Governor james V. Allred. He also had a cotton farm in the Brazos Bottom, and also raised cattle.
After the death of Frank "Peck" Oltorf, Madeline (Bartlett) Oltorf married second to Elbert Holloway, b july 5, 1880, d September 25, 1949 and buried in the Holloway Family Plot of Calvary Cemetery in Marlin, Texas.
