ROBERT JAY MOSLEY

 

Robert Jay Mosley, b July 10, 1891 on the Mosley farm near Lott, Falls County, Texas, d July 26, 1979 and buried in Clover Hill Cemetery in Lott ‑was the fourth child of Robert Lang and Mary Frances (Bouchillon) Mosley of Lott.

 

On January 21, 1916, Robert Jay married Willie Mae Lewis, b January 1, 1894 in Marlin, d April 17, 1974 and buried in Clover Hill Cemetery‑ a daughter of Lawson Larry and Sarah Elizabeth (Dixon) Lewis. Willie Mae was called "Mae."

 

Robert and Mae farmed on his father's farm near Lott until after his parents' deaths, at which time he purchased the place. He used horses and mules to work the place until 1942, when he purchased a tractor.

Robert was a Deacon in the Lone Star Baptist Church near his home, and later in the Lott Baptist Church. Mae was known for the beautiful flowers that she grew. They had one daughter:

 

Gloria Mae Mosley ‑who married Reuben Hopis Bentley‑a son of Fieldon Oras and Sarah Jane (Pace) Bentley.
