JOHN EDGAR MASTERS

John Edgar Masters, b September 11, 1876, d October 16, 1940 in Lott, Falls County, Texas and buried there in Clover Hill Cemetery. On March 4, 1907, he married in Wapanucka, Indian Territory, Oklahoma, to Iva Waldena Crews, b January 11, 1885 in Lott, Falls County, Texas, d August 7, 1948 in Lott ‑ a daughter of L. C. and Phebe Orlevia (Hart) Crews.

John Edgar Masters was a rancher, and he and Iva were members of the Lott Methodist denomination. They were the parents of two children:

Katie Blanche Masters, b May 15, 1908, d May 22, 1975 and buried in Clover Hill Cemetery in Lott married August 20, 1932 Harry B. Stallworth.

James Edgar Masters, Jr., b June 15, 1910, d November 22, 1945 ‑ married September 2, 1944 to Fairie Lucille Kirkscey. He was buried by his parents in Clover Hill Cemetery at Lott, Texas. They were the parents of one son, James Edgar Masters, III, b December 21, 1945 in Marlin, Falls County, Texas who married June 15, 1985 in Waco, McLennan County, Texas to Susan Pierce. After the death of James Edgar Masters, Jr., Fairie Lucille (Kirkscey) Masters married second to Leo Edward Kahler, Jr. James Edgar Masters, Jr. was a prominent rancher in Falls County during his life, and he was instrumental in securing the charter for the Lott State Bank. At the time of his death, he was serving as president of the bank.
