EDWARD MALCIK

 

Edward Malcik, b. April 18, 1894 at Barclay, Falls County, Texas, d. September 25, 1973 at Rosebud --

was a son of Thomas and Marie (Stastny) Malcik. About 1916, Edward married Mathilde ("Mattie") Tracy Schiller, b January 8, 1899 at Wesley, Texas ‑ a daughter of Frank and Mary (Plasek) Schiller, Sr.

Edward and Mattie had two sons:

Nelson Edward Malcik, b April 19, 1917 at Rosebud, Texas ‑ married September 3, 1938 to Mary Beth Tate, b January 6, 1917 at Blue Ridge, Falls County, Texas ‑ a daughter of Fletcher and Effie (Swinnea) Tate. Nelson graduated from Rosebud High School and Baylor University, and in 1942 during World War II, he joined first the Seabees, and in 1943 the U.S. Navyserving as a Lieutenant in the Pacific. Nelson has operated a variety store in Rosebud, and he and Mary Beth had two children: Gary Nelson Malcik, b July 25, 1949; and Jan Theresa Malcik, b March 5, 1952.

Maurice Elvis Malcik, b July 12, 1921 in Rosebud, Texas ‑ served in the U.S. Navy during World War II from April 5, 1943 to September 30, 1946. He was a Lieutenant and served in the Marshall Islands. He graduated from Rosebud High School and attended Baylor University. On December 24, 1945, Maurice first married Ellen Roberts, and secondly, he married Bonnie J. Badgett. Maurice owns the Malcik Furniture Store in Rosebud, and he has two sons: Edward Paul Malcik who married Sue Hazlerigg of Houston, Texas; and Maurice Elliott Malcik who married Rebecca Bass of Fort Worth, Texas.
