ELMORE ("PETE") LANDRUM

 

     Elmore Landrum (called "Pete"), b April 22, 1850 in Alabama, d August 22, 1932 and buried in Beulah Cemetery - was the third of eight children of Dr. Benjamin L. Landrum and his first wife, Elizabeth (Park) Landrum, of South Carolina. After the death of Elizabeth (Park) Landrum in 1867 in Alabama, "Pete" came to Falls County, Texas with his father and seven siblings in 1868.

     About 1878, Pete Landrum was married to Sarah Elizabeth Tomlinson, b August 15, 1858 in Falls County, Texas, d August 3, 1933 and buried in Beulah Cemetery - a daughter of James Kendrick and Sarah Jemima (Stallworth) Tomlinson.

     Pete and his wife farmed and raised livestock, as did other members of both their families. They were the parents of six children:

     Louis Landrum - no further information.

     Ella Landrum - married Harold Williams.

     James Perry Landrum - married Mary Tucker and had Perry Tucker Landrum, who married Imogene Boyd, and had James Perry Landrum, II.

     Joseph Augustus Landrum - married Minnie Palmer.
