WILLIAM FRANCIS KIRKPATRICK

 

 

 

     William Francis Kirkpatrick, b 1871 in Alabama, d 1952 and buried in Calvary Cemetery in Marlin, Falls County, Texas - was a son of J. M. Kirkpatrick, b May 14, 1843 in Alabama, d January 5, 1907, and his wife, N. C. Kirkpatrick, b September 26, 1850, d February 13, 1927 - and both also buried in Calvary Cemetery in Marlin.

     William Francis married Mary Helen Coone, b February 24, 1876 in Falls County, d September 19, 1902 - a daughter of Marcus Henry and Addie (Oakes) Coone, and granddaughter of Bernard and Flora (Richey) Coone, early settlers in Falls County. Her maternal grandparents were Robert Allen and Mary Helen (Ward) Oakes.

     William and Mary Helen (Coone) Kirkpatrick were the parents of seven children:

     Eleanor Kirkpatrick, died in the flu epidemic in 1919.

     Mary Augusta Kirkpatrick - married Norman Busby.

     Mary Ola Kirkpatrick, b 1899, d September 13, 1954 at Axtell, McLennan County, Texas - married Robert Fulps. They had two children: Mary La Bertha Fulps, b June 6, 1923 at Axtell - who married Lloyd Burton Allison. "Bertha" and Lloyd had Lloyd Burton Allison, Jr., who married Rita Monica Hines; John Robert Allison, who married Margo Lou Armstrong; and Peggy Ann Allison. "Bertha" is a member of the Falls County Historical Commission, and is a volunteer at the Falls County Historical Museum. The second child of Robert and Mary ala (Kirkpatrick) Fulps was a son, Robert Fulps, Jr., b July 29,1937.

     William Milton Kirkpatrick - married Ethel Taylor.

     Sylvester Kirkpatrick was unmarried, and lived with his niece, Bertha Allison, in Axtell.

     The siblings of William Francis Kirkpatrick were Samuel Kirkpatrick, b 1873; Minnie (Kirkpatrick) Howard; Herman (or Herbert) Kirkpatrick; and George F. Kirkpatrick, b 1880, d 1944 and buried in Calvary Cemetery in Marlin.
