PAUL J. KASNER

 

 

     Paul J. Kasner, b October 24, 1889 near Rosebud, Falls County, Texas, d December 15, 1962 and buried in Terry's Chapel Cemetery in Falls County, Texas - was a son of Albert Rudolph and Lena M. (Pieper) Kasnero On November 2,1911 near Barclay, Paul married Augusta W. Kaulfus, b July 30, 1893, d March 22, 1975 and buried by her husband - a daughter of Edward and Augusta (Eisman) Kaulfus. The wedding was a double ceremony, and the other couple was Paul's sister, Lena M. Kasner, who married Augusta's brother, Ernest P. Kaulfus.

     Paul J. and Augusta W. (Kaulfus) Kasner were the parents of ten children, with only seven surviving to adulthood:

     Nora Lena Kasner, b July 25, 1912 near Rosebud - married October 27, 1935 to Herbert Kraemer, b February 7, 1909, d October 4, 1978 and buried in Terry's Chapel Cemetery - a son of Gus and Ella (Lange) Kraemer. They had two children: Milton Kraemer, b September 22, 1937 who married in 1957 to Betty Reed, and Joycelyn Kraemer, b July 21, 1945 who married Roy Lynch. Herbert and Nora lived near Burlington - later moving to Barclay to a farm. He also worked in Rosebud in a grocery store, and sold fire insurance.

     Paul Albert Kasner, b February 9, 1914 near Rosebud - married January 22, 1937 to Edna Lueck, born in Oenaville, Texas - a daughter of Ed Lueck, and they had five children: Loveli Kasner, b February 23, 1934 who married October 23, 1951 to Alan Beach; Carol Kasner, b September 2, 1935 who married December 20, 1954 to Calvin Zabcik; Paula Faye Kasner, b November 7, 1940 who married February 7, 1960 to R. P. Hill; Baby Son Kasner, b February 22,1938, d February 22, 1938; and Baby son Kasner, b September 16, 1948, d September 16, 1948. Paul and Edna lived on a farm near Oenaville, then in Sneed-Kasner, and Barclay for a few years. He went to work for an oil company - moving to Monahans, Texas, but returning to Temple where he worked at Wilson Plastics for seventeen years until retirement. They are both retired, and reside in Troy, Texas.

     Anne Ida Kasner, b January 7, 1918 near Rosebud - married November 2,1937 to Edward D. Adler, b December 30,1914 in Wallis, Texas - a son of Edward and Emma (Abel) Adler. They lived on a farm in Clarkson and Pettybone, until Ed went to work as a carpenter at Ft. Hood, and then he worked in Temple until he went into military service during World War II - serving in the U.S. Navy from 1943 to 1945. While he was away, Anne worked in a drug store in Rosebud. After military service, they settled in Temple, and now reside in the rural area near Belton, Texas. Ed and Anne had one daughter: Anna Mae Adler, b 1937 in Rosebud who married August 8, 1954 to Albert Watts, who died March 6, 1973, and married second on March 2, 1974 to Ervin Rummel.

     Raymond B. Kasner, b April 7, 1920 near Rosebud - married June 16, 1948 in the Lutheran Church in Barclay, Texas to Dorothy Easley. Raymond served in the U.S. Army from 1942 to 1945 with the Armored Division - seeing combat in Germany. He and Dorothy made their in Rosebud, Texas, where they continue to reside. He farmed for a few years, and then went to work for CO-OP in Waco, Texas. They had three children: David Edward Kasner, b March 7, 1949 who married August 18, 1974 to Janet Doskocil; Donald Easley Kasner, b November 29,1950 who married May 6, 1978 to Mary Lou Zieg; and Bruce Kasner, b September 14, 1962 who is not married.

Erna Ella Kasner, b December 8, 1922 near Rosebud - married March 17, 1948 to Clifford Dale Childers. Erna worked in Rosebud prior to her marriage, and then she and C. Dale lived in Texas, Louisiana, Missouri, South America, Iran, and the Island of Trinidad. Dale served in the military from 1942 to 1943, and again from 1950 to 1951. They now reside on a 15- acre pecan farm in Leggett, Texas, and they had two children: Karon Ann Childers, b June 13, 1952 who married July 2, 1971 to Richard Wood, and married second on August 4, 1979 to Bruce Bennett; and Kenneth Dale Childers, b October 11, 1954 who married March 12, 1973 to Linda Frence, and married second on July 7,1978 to Bonita Fender.

     Clarence Bernard Kasner, b October 20, 1926 near Rosebud - married first on June 10, 1946 to Frances Wheeler, and married second on December 3, 1966 to Edna Carter Crysup. By his first marriage, Clarence Bernard had one son, Clarence Ray Kasner, b January 18, 1955 who married July 7, 1975 to Joy Talkmitt. Clarence and Edna reside in Seguin, Texas, where he works as a carpenter and looks forward to retirement.

     Olga Dora Kasner, b September 20,1928 near Rosebud - never married. She attended school in Barclay, and then worked at Caperton's 5 & 10 Store and at Tarver's Dry Goods Store in Rosebud. She subsequently moved to Austin, Texas.

     The three children who did not survive included a pair of twins, and they were:

     Augusta W. Kasner, b September 3, 1916, d April 4, 1917.

     Bruno Kasner-a twin, b & d September 26, 1925; and

     Lillie Kasner - a twin, b & d September 25, 1925.

     Paul J. and Augusta W. (Kaulfus) Kasner lived on the Kasner farm for a number of years after their marriage, where they farmed, and then lived in Barclay and continued farming. They remained in Barclay until their children completed school there. Paul was a School Trustee for the Barclay School, and was also a Fire Insurance Adjuster. After the children were gone from home, Paul and Augusta lived on a farm near Burlington, Texas.
