MONZELL BULLOCK JORDAN

Biographical Sketch

Mozell Bullock Jordan the second daughter of Mittel Ann Bullock was born January 12,1899 in Burleson County, Caldwell, Texas.

Mozell confessed a hope in Christ at an early age and united with the Antioch BaptistChurch where she remained a faithful member and served as an usher until her health failed.

Mozell Bullock married Lonnie Jordan on December 17, 1917. Mozell and Lonnie were blessed with seven children.

Mozell had her way with children. For many years she sold big face cookies and big red soda pop from her home. All the children respected her and came daily to by cookies and big red. Those that didn't have money, she would give them the broken cookies. Mozell had a group of children on a daily basis to visit her. Mozell was a house wife and was very active in her community.

Mozell was the oldest member of the Heroines of Jerico of Hiawatha Court #183. She joined on December 7, 1948 where she served faithfully.

Mozell was preceded in death by her husband and three children, Lonnie Jordan, Jr., Tommie C. Jordan and Robert Jordan.

On Wednesday, October II, 2000 Mozell Bullock Jordan finished her day and fell asleep in the "arms of Jesus."

She leaves to cherish her memory: two sons, Sam (S.C.) Jordan of Houston, Texas and James V. Jordan of Midland, Texas.; two daughters, Mary H. Sprow of Los Angeles, CA and Vera J. Earl of Marlin, Texas; a host of grand, great-grand, great-great grand, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
