JAMES MONROE HETHERINGTON

     James Monroe Hetherington, b May 19, 1871 in Monroe County, Alabama, d April 14, 1963 in Marlin, Falls County, Texas at the of a son - was the second child of William George and Susan M. (Broughton) Hetherington. On December 15, 1898, he married Itasca Pearl Barton, b May 25,1882, d December 19, 1945 -a daughter of James Fleming Barton and Anna L. (Chapman) Barton.

     James Monroe and Itasca Pearl lived on their farm South of Reagan until her death, when he moved to Marlin. They were both buried in Calvary Cemetery in Marlin. James Monroe and Itasca Pearl (Barton) Hetherington had four children:

     Clarence Barton Hetherington, b ca 1902, married and moved to Enid, Oklahoma; Agnes Marian Hetherington, married on December 20, 1922 to Arley Milton Moore; Annie Mae Hetherington, married on December 30, 1922 to Albert Brown; and James Melton Hetherington, born September 27, 1914, d September 1, 1978, married on December 27, 1936 to Alaine Estes.
